Building a Gimbal (Part 6)

Today we experimented with hanging the gimbal from the end of a string, just like how we would tether the gimbal and payload to a high altitude balloon with a single line. The major concern was that for the Yaw axis, the gimbal would  not have anything to push against except for the inertia of the payload itself. However, it seems from our rig that there is enough inertia in the base piece of styrofoam to offer enough resistance for the gimbal to push against. However, a heavier camera may need a payload with greater mass to push against.
